Dr. Stacey Oneal is an experienced scholar-practitioner in Governance, Risk, and Compliance
(GRC) with more than two decades of industry leadership guiding organizations through
complex regulatory landscapes and developing robust risk management frameworks. Her
professional background spans both public and private sectors, where she has served
as a trusted advisor on aligning operational objectives with regulatory requirements
such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST CSF, FISMA, and CMMC.
As an educator, Dr. Oneal brings her extensive applied expertise into the classroom,
emphasizing practical, real‑world learning experiences that prepare students to navigate
today’s evolving cybersecurity and compliance challenges.
Dr. Oneal holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology, an M.S. in Network Security, an
MBA, and a B.S. in Computer Science. She also maintains a broad portfolio of professional
certifications, including CISSP, CRISC, CISA, CCO, CSM, PCI-QSA, CMMC RP, CIGE, and
CICA.
