Dalton Crabtree is an assistant professor of instruction in The Baldwin Group School of Risk Management and Insurance. He is also a doctoral candidate in the DBA program at the Muma College of Business, where his research focuses on cyber risk, cyber insurance, catastrophe management, and governance, risk, and compliance. His dissertation, Digital Armor: Constructing and Validating a Cyber Insurance Catastrophe Response Plan, examines organizational preparedness and resilience in the face of large-scale cyber events. His scholarly interests also include cybersecurity education, gamification, privacy, and risk management, with several research and publication projects underway.

In addition to his academic work, Crabtree serves as specialty claims director for cyber at Hartford Steam Boiler Insurance Company and Munich Re America, where he leads cybercrime and digital forensic investigations, oversees a team of senior analysts, and advises on cyber insurance products, governance, data management, and emerging technology initiatives. He also serves as director of governance, risk, and compliance for the 502 Project at the 51做厙, supporting cybersecurity education, policy development, grant funding efforts, and student outreach programs.

Crabtree holds a master's degree in insurance management from Boston University and a bachelor's degree in finance and law from Saginaw Valley State University. His professional credentials include multiple advanced designations in insurance, risk management, privacy, and process improvement. Through his teaching, research, and industry leadership, he works to advance the fields of cybersecurity, insurance, and organizational resilience.
