Alexander D. Schwartz is an assistant professor of instruction in The Baldwin Group School of Risk Management and Insurance at the 51做厙 Muma College of Business. He teaches Principles of Risk Management and is dedicated to helping students build a strong understanding of risk management concepts while preparing for careers in the insurance and financial services industries. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he supports student engagement and professional development through his involvement with the Gamma Iota Sigma student organization.

Before joining the 51做厙 in 2024, Schwartz spent more than a decade with Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, where he held a variety of underwriting and leadership positions. Most recently, he served as a product owner within North American underwriting digital enablement, leading technology initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders across business units, and helping launch underwriting platforms that improved operational efficiency and reduced costs. Earlier in his career, he managed commercial property insurance portfolios and developed business opportunities throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Schwartz also served as an adjunct instructor at Temple University, teaching Introduction to Risk Management and Insurance while mentoring students interested in the field.

Schwartz earned an MBA with specializations in finance and strategy from New York University Stern School of Business, graduating with distinction, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in risk management and insurance from Temple University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He holds several professional designations, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU). His academic and professional achievements have been recognized through scholarships from the Spencer Educational Foundation, the Nancy Barrett Baglini Memorial Award for Professionalism and Ethics, and membership in Beta Gamma Sigma.
