An update on USF's strategic planning process
Dear colleagues:
In my communication reflecting on my first three months as your new president, I promised to provide an update once our strategic planning committee was formed and we launched the important work of shaping USF’s future priorities and aspirations.

- Jenifer Jasinski Schneider – professor of literary studies and dean of the College of Education
- Charles Stanish – anthropology professor in the College of Arts and Sciences
- Steven Wilson – professor and department chair in the Department of Communication
I am pleased to share that David Simmons, representing our Faculty Senate, and Kimberly Ross, a respected business leader, USF Foundation board member and proud USF alumna, will serve as co-chairs.
Resources for the committee include Jessica Samaniego, executive project manager; LeEtta Schmidt from USF Libraries; Valeria Garcia, from the Office of Decision Support; and Masha Galchenko, associate vice president, budget & financial analysis and controller.
The committee held its first meeting on June 2 and will work throughout the summer and into the academic year. The Mapping USF's Future website will be updated regularly. The final plan will be presented to the Board of Trustees by the end of the fall semester and to the Florida Board of Governors in early 2027.
While the committee will help lead the foundational work, these are not the only voices that will shape the plan. It must reflect input from stakeholders across all USF campuses, and additional opportunities for engagement and feedback will be shared throughout the process.
Please join me in thanking these colleagues for their service as we write USF’s next
chapter.
