Financial Hardship

Financial challenges can happen to anyone. The resources below are available to help USF students navigate unexpected financial difficulties and connect with support services both on and off campus.

Transportation Assistance (CAPS)

USF/HART Bus Ride Program – Eligible students can ride HART buses at no additional cost using their USF ID.

USF Student Support Resources (CAPS)

USF Feed-A-Bull Food Pantry
Provides supplemental food assistance, nutrition education, and community resources to students experiencing food insecurity.

Student Emergency Fund
Limited financial assistance may be available to currently enrolled students experiencing unexpected financial emergencies.

USF CARE Team
Connects students to campus and community resources during times of personal, financial, or academic distress.

Counseling Center
Provides free and confidential mental health counseling and support services for enrolled students.

Student Outreach & Support (SOS)
Assists students experiencing crises, housing instability, food insecurity, and other barriers affecting academic success.

Bull2Bull Financial Education Program
Offers one-on-one financial coaching, budgeting assistance, debt management education, and financial wellness workshops.

Housing & Emergency Shelter Resources (CAPS)

Metropolitan Ministries
Provides emergency shelter, housing assistance, food support, and family stabilization services.

Alpha House of Tampa
Offers housing, counseling, and support services for pregnant women and single mothers.

The Beulah House
Provides transitional housing and supportive services for women.

Homeless Helping Homeless
Offers resources and support services for individuals experiencing homelessness, including college students.

Food Assistance Resources (CAPS)

Feeding Tampa Bay
Provides food assistance, mobile food pantries, and a SNAP eligibility screening tool.

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
Students may qualify for monthly food benefits to assist with grocery expenses.

Tampa Bay Network to End Hunger
Connects individuals with local food pantries, meal programs, and community resources.

Employment & Financial Assistance (CAPS)

FloridaCommerce Employment Services
Career assistance, job searches, workforce development, and unemployment resources.

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
Provides temporary financial assistance and employment support for eligible families.

CareerSource Tampa Bay
Offers employment assistance, resume support, job training, and career development services.

Emergency Assistance (CAPS)

American Red Cross
Provides disaster relief, emergency assistance, and recovery resources for individuals and families affected by emergencies.

United Way 211 Tampa Bay
Connects individuals with housing, utility, food, healthcare, mental health, and financial assistance resources available throughout the Tampa Bay area.
