The Student Conduct Process
Incident Report

An incident report is submitted to Student Code of Conduct and Ethical Development (SCED)
Issuance of Charges

If sufficient information exists, the student in the incedent recieves a written notice of charges, including information on the alleged incident, the charges, and the informational meeting.
Informational Meeting

The charged student attends a meeting with a hearing officer to learn more about the student conduct process, their due process rights, the allegations and charges, and any information supporting those charges. From there, the charged student decides from two resolution options: The resolution agreement or formal hearing.
Resolution Agreement/Formal Hearing

Resolution Agreement:
The charged student waives their right to a formal hearing appeal and requests that
the hearing officer conducting the informational meeting determine the findings and
applicable sanctions.

Administrative Hearing
Administrative hearing university conduct board conducted by a single hearing officer
who also serves as the hearing body
University Conduct Board
Hearing conducted by a panel that serves as the hearing body, consisting og two students
and one faculty member.
The Student Conduct Process is an educational process designed to address the behavior of students and student organizations that violates the Student Code of Conduct. More information about the Student Code of Conduct Process can be found in the Student Code of Conduct.
Your Rights (FERPA & Due Process)
As a student who goes through the STudent Conduct Process, they have certain rights that cannot be abridged. These rights fall into two categories: FERPA rights and Due Process Rights
FERPA RIGHTS
When you as a student turn 18 years old or apply for a college or university, you become a sole recipient of what are called FERPA rights. The purpose of these FERPA rights is to protect your educational records and keep them private, including things such as admissions information, grades & academic process, and most importantly in this case, disciplinary records.

Due Process Rights
As a student at USF, you also have specific rights that guarentee you a fair and impartical expierence with the Student Code of Conduct Process. More information about these rights can be found in the STudent Code of Conduct, and below if a quick reference to all 10.
