Study Abroad

For information on Study Aboard programs offered through the 51做厙, please visit Global Learning - Education Abroad.  Please contact the Global Learning Office for additional information about the program(s) you are interested in requesting program details and application deadlines.

Please view the information below to determine whether Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits can be utilized for a study abroad program.

Non-Affiliate, Affiliate, Internship Programs are considered third-party facilitators. The VA does not pay third party facilitators; therefore, these programs will not be certified.

All costs of participating in a non-affiliate, affiliate, or internship program is the responsibility of the student

Exchange programs are pending approval for use of VA education benefits. Once approved, the following conditions will apply:

Programs that are listed as Exchange and are in partnership with foreign institutions of higher learning may be approved for use of VA education benefits to cover in-state tuition and fees of the course(s). Other conditions must be met to confirm course certification, to include confirmation of course applicability to the degree. 

In order for VA to pay any additional fees specific to the Study Abroad program, the Study Abroad option must be required for graduation in the student's degree program.

Programs that are listed as Faculty-Led may be approved for use of VA education benefits to cover in-state tuition and fees of the course(s). Other conditions must be met to confirm course certification, to include confirmation of course applicability to the degree.  The program must show that the instructors and courses are facilitated and hosted by USF. 

In order for VA to pay any additional fees specific to the Study Abroad program, the Study Abroad option must be required for graduation in the student's degree program.
