Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why Can't I View My Published Pages in Test?
As of April 16, 2026, the USF IT Security team has placed the CMS test site domains (testsite.usf.edu, test.sarasotamanatee.usf.edu, and test.stpetersburg.usf.edu) behind a VPN (Virtual Private Network). A VPN is used to securely connect to on-campus resources when off campus.
Do I need to use the VPN?
If you are working on any USF campus, then using the VPN will not be necessary.
If you are not working on a USF campus, then you (and anyone you send test site links to for content review) will need to log in to the VPN in order to view those test sites.
How do I install the VPN?
Please follow the instructions below.
Have you installed the VPN and still can't log in? If you're using the USF VPN, your default MultiFactor Authentication (MFA) method must be set to the Microsoft Authenticator App. This change will apply to all MFA-required logins (e.g., MyUSF, Email, Teams).
If you have issues or need assistance with the VPN, please contact the IT Help Desk.
