Tutoring and Academic Learning Support

Do you need help with a tough class, a paper that is not coming together, or just want to study with someone who has been through the course before? You are in the right place.

USF offers free academic support to all undergraduate students across every campus. This page is your starting point. Look through what we have to offer below, pick what you need, and reach out. Most students who use these services come back, and a lot of them wish they had done so sooner.

CAMPUS CENTERS
Every USF campus has a main hub for academic support. Start here if you are not sure where to go.

PASS PROGRAM

PASS stands for Peer-Assisted Study Sessions. These are free group study sessions led by a student who has already taken the course and earned a strong grade in it.

PASS is offered for specific courses that tend to give students the most difficulties. Sessions meet a few times a week, and the leader helps the group work through material, compare notes, and practice the kinds of problems that show up on exams.

PASS is not remedial, and it is not just for students who feel they are behind. Students who attend PASS regularly tend to earn higher grades than students who do not. No signup is needed. Just check the schedule and show up.

BRAINFUSE

Brainfuse is USF's 24/7 online tutoring platform. It is free with your USF login. You can connect with a live tutor, submit a paper for written feedback, or work through practice problems on your own.

Brainfuse is good for late-night work weekend homework help, a second set of eyes on a paper before a deadline, and subjects not supported by tutoring elsewhere.

To access Brainfuse, first log into your course on Canvas. Then click on the Brainfuse Learning link on the left course menu.
